PROCEDURES :: FACE LIFT
A face lift improves the most visible signs of aging by removing excess fat, tightening underlying muscles and redraping the skin of the face and neck.
The best candidate for face lift surgery is someone whose face and neck have begun to sag but whose skin still has some elasticity. The majority of patients are in their forties, fifties and sixties but face lift can most assuredly be performed on people in their seventies and eighties.
Face lifts are very individualized. During your initial consultation with Dr. Rebot, your face, along with underlying structures, as well as your personal expectations will be assessed. Any medical conditions such as high blood pressure, diabetes, heart disease, medications you are taking and whether you are a smoker must be taken into consideration.
Dr. Rebot utilizes the most advanced techniques for repositioning of the underlying facial muscles and redraping of the skin for face lifts providing a more natural and longer lasting result than the common "skin only facelift". Dr. Rebot will explain exactly what he feels you would benefit from after discussion of your goals. Very often, face lift is combined with eyelid surgery, brow surgery or chin augmentation.
During your consultation with Dr. Rebot, you will be informed of all clinical and financial aspects of your surgery. Should you elect to schedule your face lift, preoperative appointments will be scheduled along with instructions on preoperative medical clearance, medications to take and not to take, and pre and postoperative care will be discussed with you.
Generally speaking, although it varies between patients and extent of surgery necessary to obtain the desired results, you will require at least one to three weeks off work and social activities following a face lift to allow time for the majority of the swelling and bruising to disappear.
A number of factors, including your heredity and your lifestyle, play a role in how long the results of your facelift will last. Remember, even though your “aging clock” will be turned back several years, that clock will continue to run. However, at any point in the future, you will still look better than you would have looked without surgery. Patients are usually happy with their appearance for many years following a facelift.
Fees for aesthetic surgery are customarily paid prior to the surgery. The costs may vary depending on the procedure and/or complexity of the surgery. All costs will be reviewed with you at the time of your initial consultation. Generally, our patients are pleasantly surprised with the affordability that our fees offer. If necessary, financing is available.
